A horrific road accident on National Highway 55 has claimed the life of an ambulance attendant and left a driver battling for survival. The tragedy occurred early Saturday morning near Haldiabahal, under the jurisdiction of Dhenkanal's Motanga police station.

The private ambulance was returning to Angul after safely dropping a patient in Bhubaneswar when it violently rammed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside. The impact was catastrophic, completely mangling the vehicle.

Gunanidhi Jyothish, an attendant from the Banabaspur area, died instantly at the scene.

The driver, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Motanga police have seized the vehicles and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

This incident once again highlights the growing dangers of illegally parked heavy vehicles on national highways, turning safe returns into fatal journeys.
