Indian cricket team Head Coach Gautam Gambhir visited the renowned Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati today to offer prayers, just two days before the start of the second Test against South Africa. He was accompanied by several members of the support staff.
This spiritual visit precedes a crucial match for Team India, which must win the Guwahati Test, starting November 22, to tie the series 1-1 and avoid a home series defeat.
Meanwhile, Team India faces a selection challenge as Shubman Gill has been ruled out due to a neck injury sustained in the first Test. In his absence, Test Vice-Captain Rishabh Pant will lead the team. Sai Sudarshan is a likely inclusion in the playing eleven. Both teams arrived in Guwahati on Wednesday and have commenced practice sessions.
