A private bus traveling from Delhi to Siwan, Bihar, met with a tragic accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway early Tuesday morning, resulting in three fatalities, including one child, and approximately 20 injuries.
The speeding bus reportedly lost control and overturned near Aral Cut at around 3:20 am. Authorities suspect that excessive speed and the driver potentially falling asleep or being disoriented by fog led to the accident. The driver and cleaner fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Rescue operations were swiftly launched by the police, Tehsil Administration, and Expressway Patrolling Team. The injured passengers were rushed to the Medical College, where some are reported to be in critical condition.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, and further investigation is underway. The bus, carrying about 45 passengers, was later removed to normalize traffic.
