Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated the two-day conference of District Collectors and Security Officers at Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, urging them to ensure timely and effective use of government funds.

The CM strongly criticized the decades-old practice known as the 'March Syndrome,' where departments work slowly throughout the year and then rush to spend the entire budget, often leading to wasted money and compromised quality, especially towards November and the fiscal year-end.

He emphasized the need to abandon this tradition to achieve the goal of a prosperous Odisha by 2036. CM Majhi stressed the importance of successfully implementing schemes like the Godavarish Mahapatra Yojana and Shri Jagannath Darshan.

He directed District Collectors and Principal Secretaries to review and immediately execute all pending projects, focusing on sustained development over last-minute spending sprees.
