The holy festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated at the historic Lingaraj Temple on Sunday, February 15. Following a high-level coordination meeting, Temple Supervisor Rajkishore Mohapatra confirmed that the much-awaited Mahadeep will be lifted atop the temple at 10 PM.
Addressing potential scheduling confusion, officials clarified that Shivaratri coincides with the Chaturdashi night and the traditional Bedha Parikrama on February 15. "There is no dispute regarding the date; the rituals will proceed as per the sacred alignment of the tithi," stated Mohapatra.
To accommodate the massive influx of devotees expected on Sunday, the administration is prioritizing crowd management. Extensive barricades will be erected to ensure an orderly and smooth darshan throughout the day and night. With the schedule now finalized, the temple city is gearing up for a seamless spiritual experience for thousands of pilgrims.
