In a harrowing incident, a Class-VI student, Lakshmi Priya Sahu, passed away following a severe scalp infection caused by a chronic lice infestation. Despite her family’s attempts to address the issue, the condition escalated, leading to a fatal systemic infection.
The young girl had reportedly been suffering for months, eventually becoming housebound due to the scalp damage and an accompanying foul odor. Her health took a critical turn three days ago when she began vomiting blood. Although she was rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital, she tragically succumbed during treatment.
