Renowned actor Satyaki Mishra has approached the DCP seeking protection after receiving death threats from his cousins, Sabyasachi and Saumitri Mishra. The dispute reportedly stems from a long-standing ownership row over the iconic Cuttack Student Bookstore in Balubazar.
According to the complaint, the brothers forcibly entered Satyaki’s residence, hurling obscenities at his 84-year-old father and threatening to kill the family. Satyaki’s wife was also allegedly harassed during the confrontation.
Key Points of the Case:
The Root Cause: Conflict over the bookstore managed by Satyaki’s father.
Police Inaction: Despite a prior complaint at the Purighat Police Station, the accused failed to respond to summons.
Appeal for Safety: Satyaki met the DCP on Monday, citing grave concerns for his family’s lives.
The police are now under pressure to act as the internal family feud escalates into a public legal battle.
