Three girl students who went missing from the hostel of Bamra Girls High School have been successfully rescued by police in Kuchinda around 8:30 am on Monday.
The students—two Class IX girls from Govindpur and Kuchinda, and one from Jharsuguda Lakera—were found missing during the student census after evening prayers on Sunday. School authorities immediately informed the District Education Officer and their families. A complaint was filed at Govindpur police station by a teacher, Pooja Majhi, as the principal was absent.
Police initiated an immediate search, reviewing CCTV footage at bus and railway stations before locating the students this morning. The students will be produced before the District Child Welfare Officer today for questioning to determine the circumstances under which they left the hostel.
