To bolster higher education, Odisha Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj has directed seven state-run universities to accelerate their NAAC accreditation renewal and national ranking goals.
The renewed drive targets prominent institutions including Vikram Deb, Rajendra, Dharanidhar, Madhusudan Law, and Shree Jagannath Sanskrit universities, alongside two others. The state has committed comprehensive administrative and logistical backing to elevate their national standing and NIRF rankings.
Tackling Faculty Shortages & Infrastructure:
Beyond accreditation, the government is actively upgrading campus infrastructure in coordination with the UGC. To resolve severe staff deficits, Vice-Chancellor appointments are already complete, and interviews to fill over 1,400 Professor and Associate Professor positions are currently underway.
This multi-pronged reform aims to revitalize Odisha’s public university ecosystem and enhance academic excellence across the state.
