President Droupadi Murmu received a vibrant welcome in Rourkela, marked by a 2,500-student performance showcasing Odisha's rich Santali and Odissi heritage. Accompanied by CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, the President underscored the state’s pivotal role in national identity.


Key Highlights:

Infrastructure Boost: The President inaugurated four major projects worth ₹158 crore, including a Tribal Museum, a Science Park, and the Nirmal Munda Gateway.


Cultural Tribute: She honored the legacy of freedom fighter Nirmal Munda and praised Sundargarh’s contribution to Indian hockey, citing icons like Dilip Tirkey.


Empowerment Focus: Emphasizing that a "Developed India" requires women’s advancement, she lauded the Subhadra Yojana and tribal welfare initiatives like PM-JANMAN.


The visit concluded with the President interacting with SHG members and students, celebrating the grassroots synergy of tradition and modern development.

President Murmu noted that while Sundargarh is known for its struggle, it is now leading the way in sports and tribal education.
