In a pioneering move for the state’s healthcare sector, SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack is set to host a full-fledged police station within its complex. This upgrade addresses the mounting security challenges and heavy patient traffic that have overwhelmed current outposts.
The project features a 10,000-square-foot facility near the new medical building, with a secondary unit established at the Acharya Harihar Cancer Center. Following a strategic review by DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dyandeo, construction is slated to begin soon.
While existing deployments struggle to manage crowds in high-pressure areas like the trauma casualty and medicine wards, this dedicated station will provide 24/7 law enforcement presence.
By integrating security directly into the healthcare hub, the initiative ensures a safer environment for doctors, staff, and thousands of daily patients, marking a new dimension in Odisha’s medical infrastructure.
