Following the Chief Minister's directives, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) has launched an investigation into the distressing incident where a man was forced to exhume his deceased sister's skeleton after a bank refused to release her funds.

On Thursday morning, the RDC team—comprising Sabzha Keshari Mohapatra, Keonjhar District Magistrate Vishal Singh, and Deputy District Magistrate Umashankar Dalai—visited the residence of the victim, Jeetu Munda, in Mallipshi village under the Patna block of Keonjhar district to hold discussions.

Previously, Jeetu Munda visited the Odisha Grama Bank to collect the money belonging to his late sister, Kalra Munda. The bank denied the request, demanding a death certificate.

In a heartbreaking move, Munda dug up his sister's remains to produce proof of her death.

Following widespread state-wide condemnation, the funds were subsequently handed over to Munda. The RDC administration is now reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
