T. Venkat Giri Rao, a Senior Clerk in the Kalahandi Rural Water Supply Department, was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Department while allegedly accepting a bribe.
The official was apprehended at his residence while taking ₹20,000 from Trilochan Shabar, a retired fitter of the same department. The bribe was reportedly demanded for processing and issuing the retired employee’s pension and gratuity papers.
The Vigilance department initiated the trap following a complaint. Further investigation into the incident and the clerk's assets has been launched following the arrest.
