Odisha’s Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department has launched a decisive offensive against the illegal hoarding and black marketing of LPG. In a massive state-wide operation spanning all 30 districts, authorities have seized 5,308 cylinders and arrested five key suspects.

The crackdown involved simultaneous raids at 2,746 locations, including gas agencies and suspicious warehouses.

The results are staggering: 397 cases have been registered for various irregularities, and 31 FIRs have been lodged in local police stations. District-level supply officers are now providing daily reports to ensure no violator escapes the net.

This surprise offensive has dismantled organized rackets that exploited local consumers. The government has signaled that this is only the beginning; the campaign will intensify to ensure fuel security and price stability.

Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or overcharging to the department immediately.
