A horrific accident claimed the lives of six bus passengers early Saturday morning on the Yamuna Expressway. The tragedy occurred at approximately 2:45 AM near Milestone 88, under the jurisdiction of the Surir police station.
The private bus was en route from Nangloi, Delhi, to Rasulabad, Kanpur. According to officials, the driver stopped the vehicle outside the designated "green zone" to allow passengers to disembark. A speeding container truck approaching from behind rammed into the stationary bus, crushing those standing alongside it.
Casualties and Response:
Deceased: Identified victims include Sonu (Auraiya), Alewal and Dayesh (Basti), Aslam (Kannauj), and Santosh (Delhi). Two victims remain unidentified.
Injured: Amar Dubey (Auraiya) sustained injuries and is receiving medical care.
Inspector Ajay Kumar confirmed that visibility was clear at the time of the crash. While traffic was briefly disrupted, emergency teams have since cleared the site and restored normalcy to the expressway.
