Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Assembly today that 49 identified Bangladeshi nationals have been deported from the state since the new government assumed office.

Responding to a question by MLA Manas Kumar Dutt regarding the status of Bangladeshi infiltrator identification, the Chief Minister—who holds the Home Department portfolio—stated that a total of 51 Bangladeshis have been identified so far.

The highest number of identifications came from Khordha (24), followed by Cuttack (15), Ganjam (6), Kandhamal (3), and Koraput (1).

The Chief Minister also revealed that two other Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended with fake passports, and legal cases have been registered against them.
