A math teacher at Haji Nasiruddin School in Balasore is facing accusations of misconduct with a seventh-grade student, leading to a violent confrontation on Saturday.
The student informed her family yesterday that her math teacher, Sheikh Rehan, had allegedly misbehaved with her. This morning, outraged parents and local villagers stormed the school. During a discussion with the headmaster and the accused teacher, Sheikh Rehan, the situation escalated into a heated argument, resulting in the teacher being brutally assaulted.
Primary sources indicate that the teacher has been absconding since the incident.
The student's mother has filed a formal complaint at the District Town Police Station. While police arrived promptly at the scene, the accused had already fled.
An investigation has been launched. Separately, the District Education Officer has directed the Mandal Education Officer to conduct an immediate inquiry to ascertain the facts of the incident.
