Peace is gradually being restored in Malkangiri following recent widespread violence and arson. The prohibitory order, BNS 163, which was previously imposed, has now been withdrawn.
However, internet services remain suspended in the district until 12 noon today to prevent the spread of misinformation and maintain order.
In efforts to ensure lasting calm, district officials have held discussions with tribal leaders. The Malkangiri District Magistrate confirmed that the land dispute that fueled the unrest will be resolved soon.

The accused in the murder case, Shukharanjan Mandal, has been arrested and sent to jail.
Six individuals involved in the MV 26 violence case have also been arrested.
The family of the deceased has already received ₹30,000, and a request has been made to the government for an additional ₹4 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
