The Special CBI Court has granted the central agency a four-day remand of prime accused Shankar, Suresh, and Sagar in connection with the massive Police SI recruitment scam. Interrogations will commence at Jharpada Jail to unravel a conspiracy involving deals worth thousands of crores.
The CBI identified Shankar as a "professional criminal" and the mastermind behind a vast broker network. Investigations revealed that Suresh, owner of Silicon Tech Lab, misused his position as the official printer and transporter of question papers to facilitate the leak. Suresh allegedly sheltered Shankar before helping him flee toward the Nepal border.
The agency aims to expose the "big players" shielding these brokers. Having already summoned several suspects, the CBI expects more high-profile names to surface as they probe Shankar’s involvement in previous examination irregularities. This crackdown marks a significant step in dismantling the organized syndicate targeting the state's recruitment system.
