The Central Water Commission (CWC) has formed a special technical committee to permanently resolve the Mahanadi water-sharing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
Ahead of the next Mahanadi Water Dispute Tribunal hearing on September 17, this committee is conducting an impartial technical analysis of detailed water requirement data submitted by both states.
While the technical committee paves the way for a data-driven solution, experts believe the long-standing dispute can best be settled amicably through dialogue and mutual understanding.
