Today, on the occasion of Margashirsha Krishna Trayodashi Tithi, the darshan for devotees at the temple will be closed for five hours, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, to perform a secret and sacred ritual known as 'Paitalagi' for the birth of Mahaprabhu.
Following the midday incense and the second Bhogamandap, the Basunga Patar Paita will be brought from the Sevayat's house. The Rahala Tapati Sevayats will then enter the Garbhagriha. Rising to the Ratna Sanshana, they will tie Mahaprabhu's pata and sriang, marking the beginning of the Paita Laghi.
This ritual, performed to protect the body of Mahaprabhu using a paita prepared in a Basunga pot, is a deeply traditional practice. After the Pahud Alat, the Jaya-Vijaya Dwar will be closed. Darshan will resume immediately after the completion of the Paitalagi ritual.
