Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Train Flagged Off from Berhampur

The special pilgrimage train carrying senior citizens to Omkareshwar and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh was flagged off today from Berhampur Railway Station by Deputy Chief Minister Parvathy Parida.


Continuing an annual tradition for South Odisha, the train is carrying 775 pilgrims aged 60 to 75 from five districts: Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, and Nayagarh. Ganjam has the highest number of passengers at 438. An additional 25 escorts are accompanying the group.


Before the journey, the district administration arranged health check-ups, cultural programs for entertainment, and provided meals. The excited pilgrims expressed their happiness as the train departed, allowing them the opportunity for this important pilgrimage.
