In a coordinated pre-dawn operation, police forces launched a large-scale surprise raid on Sambalpur Circle Jail, along with facilities in Redhakhol and Kuchinda.
The crackdown, led by two Additional SPs and an SDPO, involved a massive contingent of officers and police personnel who meticulously searched every cell for contraband.
The operation was conducted under the oversight of the Sambalpur Sub-District Collector, acting as the Executive Magistrate. Despite the intensity of the sweep—which aimed to weed out mobile phones and illegal substances—authorities confirmed that no objectionable items were recovered.
While the search yielded a "clean" result, the synchronized raids serve as a stern reminder of the state's commitment to maintaining strict security protocols and preventing illegal activities within the prison system.
