The meticulous inventory of Lord Jagannath's Ratna Bhandar resumes today, following strict state guidelines.
The process will run until the 11th, with further sessions scheduled between the 13th and 18th. Under the Collector's supervision, the treasury keys will be retrieved to catalog the sacred gems and jewelry.
To ensure transparency, the administration is employing 3D mapping, photography, and videography.
The new records will be cross-referenced with the 1978 inventory, accounting for additions made in 1982 and 1985. A high-level team including RBI officials, expert jewelers, and authorized servitors will conduct the appraisal.
While inner-temple darshan is suspended during inventory hours to maintain sanctity, devotees can still catch a glimpse of the deities from the exterior.
This historic exercise aims to provide a definitive and modernized account of the Lord’s immense wealth after decades of anticipation.
