Two young men remain missing after a boat capsized in the Tantighai River in Odisha's Jajpur district on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 8:00 AM near Dauri Bandha Ghat. Four members of a family from Mohammad Jamalpur village—75-year-old Hemalata Dalai, her 60-year-old daughter Bhama Dalai, and grandsons Subhankar and Mania Dalai—were returning home by boat after witnessing a Durga idol immersion procession at Daunkurula.
As the boat capsized, local residents heard cries for help and swiftly rescued Hemalata and Bhama. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors report their condition is currently stable.
However, despite ongoing search and rescue operations by a Fire Services team, local police, and administration, there is still no trace of Subhankar and Mania. The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom and sparked deep concern throughout the local area.
