Odisha is steeped in festive fervor today as the state marks Dussehra and Vijayadashami alongside Mahanavami rituals. Vibrant energy fills puja mandaps across towns and cities, while devotees throng prominent Shaktipeeths to seek blessings from the Divine Mother.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm greetings to citizens on social media.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Heartfelt greetings to you all on the occasion of Vijayadashami. May this festival of victory—filled with joy and firm conviction—impart new strength to everyone’s resolutions. It is my sincere wish that every individual’s life be enriched with happiness, good fortune, and success.”
Echoing the sentiment, CM Majhi greeted the people of the state, celebrating the auspicious festival as a timeless symbol of the triumph of truth over falsehood, righteousness over unrighteousness, and justice over injustice.
Throughout the state, elaborate arrangements and heavy security are in place to manage the massive footfall at pandals. Celebrations will culminate this evening with the grand Ravan Podi and idol immersion ceremonies, bidding a devotional farewell to Goddess Durga.
