After six months on the run, suspended Police Inspector Rajesh Dholasingh surrendered before the Jeypore District Court on Monday. The former Astaranga IIC had been evading arrest since August 14, following a dramatic escape from the Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar during questioning.

Dholasingh’s downfall began seven years ago during his tenure as a Sub-Inspector in Jeypore, where he was accused of aiding the ganja mafia and using their vehicles. The Koraput Police recently traced these links, leading to his suspension by the DGP for dereliction of duty on August 15 last year.

Despite raids on his wife’s official residence in Bhubaneswar, Dholasingh remained untraceable until his sudden appearance in court. The surrender marks a major breakthrough in the investigation into high-level police collusion with drug syndicates.

Authorities are now seeking his custody to uncover the full extent of the narcotics network.
