In a major breakthrough, the Ambabhona police raided the Prakashpur bus stand area, busting an illegal cough syrup trafficking ring and arresting two local suspects.
The accused have been identified as Ghanashyam Naik (39) and Pugal Kusam (58) from Chicholi village. During the operation, authorities seized 162 bottles of cough syrup—comprising 150 sealed and 12 open bottles—alongside a Honda Activa scooter, a mobile phone, and Rs. 3,500 in cash.
A formal case has been registered at the Ambabhona police station. Investigators are currently probing the supply chain to track down the primary source of the contraband and identify potential accomplices. Both suspects have been produced in court following necessary legal procedures, sending a strong warning to local narcotics peddlers.
