Ninety-one folk and tribal artists from Odisha's Ganjam district experienced a momentous day at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, where they paid a courtesy call on President Droupadi Murmu.
The special invitation followed the President's visit to Ganjam on August 4–5, during which five tribal dance groups performed at Taptapani. Deeply captivated by their vibrant heritage—particularly the traditional Lanjia Saura dance—President Murmu warmly appreciated the district's rich folk art, tribal dances, and cultural traditions.
Accompanied by key district officials including Collector V. Kirti Bhasan, Tourism Officer Partha Sarathi Hansda, Cultural Officer Aditi Acharya, and Additional Tehsildar Manoj Kumar Pradhan, the artists interacted with the President before enjoying a special lunch at the presidential estate. This national recognition highlights Ganjam’s unique and enduring cultural legacy on India's biggest stage.
