This Utkal Diwas, Odisha received a major gift as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the state’s first Visa Application Center at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal (BSABT) in Baramunda.

For years, Odia travelers had to visit Kolkata, Delhi, or Hyderabad for visa formalities. Addressing this long-standing demand, the state government collaborated with the Centre to establish this 3,000-square-foot modern facility.

Managed by VFS Global, the center initially offers services for 10 countries, including the UK, Ireland, Italy, and Japan, with plans for future expansion.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this center is a "historic step" that will bolster Odisha’s tourism, industry, and international relations. By bringing global connectivity to the doorstep of its citizens, the state has significantly simplified foreign travel.

This milestone reflects Odisha’s rising prominence on the global stage and the government’s commitment to public convenience.
