For the third time since January, the Sambalpur District Court has been targeted by a chilling bomb threat via email. The latest threat, received on April 2, sent shockwaves through the city, prompting an immediate sweep by the bomb disposal squad and fire services.
While no explosives were found, Additional SP Ajay Kumar Mishra confirmed that security has been fortified. Entrances are now under heavy guard, with armed police using DFMD and HHMD scanners to screen every visitor.
Investigation Highlights:
Global Links: Cyber police have traced the threatening emails to IP addresses in the Netherlands and Germany.
Legal Response: The Bar Association, led by Dr. Pramod Rath, has lauded the police’s swift action but urged continued vigilance.
International Cooperation: Local authorities are now working with international agencies to unmask the culprits behind these serial hoaxes.
Despite the fear, the administration remains firm, treating these digital threats from abroad as a high-priority challenge to law and order.
