Devotees planning a visit to the temple today should take note of a scheduled break in public viewing. The holy Paitalagi Niti will be performed this evening, resulting in a 4-hour closure of general darshan from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Observed on the fourth day of Baisakha, this unique ritual follows the second Bhogamandap. During the service, Rahalatapati Sevaks wrap the deity in Patti cloth, tied in the style of a sacred thread (Paita). This essential ritual serves two main purposes:
Protection: It guards the deity’s physical form.
Preservation: It protects the layers of sandalwood paste applied daily to the body.
As the Paitalagi Niti is a strictly confidential ritual, the Jai Vijay Dwara will remain closed to the public. The temple administration requests cooperation from all devotees as these ancient traditions are upheld to ensure the sanctity of the Thakur.
