A tragic road accident in Odisha’s Jajpur district claimed five lives early today when a Bolero carrying wedding guests rammed into a pickup truck near Barada Behera Tanki Chack in Jenapur.
The victims, residents of Sanjaynagar, were returning home after attending a celebration in Keonjhar.
The impact was severe, resulting in the deaths of three women, one young woman, and a man. Local residents immediately launched a rescue operation, transporting the survivors to the Badachana Community Health Center.
Among the eight individuals who sustained serious injuries, several have been referred to the SCB Medical College in Cuttack for advanced medical care.
Jenapur police arrived promptly at the scene, securing the area and seizing both vehicles involved in the collision. An investigation is currently underway to determine the specific circumstances that led to the crash.
