In a major boost for the state’s workforce on International Labour Day, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a daily wage hike across all categories. The increase is effective retrospectively from April 1, 2026, adding ₹300 to every worker's monthly earnings.
Under the new pay structure, daily wages have been revised as follows:
Unskilled Workers: ₹472
Semi-skilled Workers: ₹522
Skilled Workers: ₹572
Highly Skilled Workers: ₹622
The decision aims to provide financial relief and recognize the invaluable contribution of laborers across various sectors. CM Majhi emphasized that this ₹10 daily increment reflects the government's commitment to the dignity and welfare of the "Shramika Shaktii." This timely "gift" has been widely welcomed by labor unions as a step toward better living standards.
