Residents of the disputed Kotia region in Odisha’s Koraput district have strongly opposed the Andhra Pradesh government's electoral process, tearing down election posters and banners for upcoming Panchayat and Zilla Parishad polls.
Locals intercepted campaign vehicles and rejected Andhra Pradesh's attempts to include border villages—such as Ganjeipadara, Fagunasineri, and Fatusineri—in its voting schedule this November.
The move has sparked unified political opposition across Odisha. Following rising border tensions, the Koraput district administration and police have intensified security and patrolling in the area.
