Despite no threat of major floods, the Water Resources Department has issued a minor flood warning for the Mahanadi River following heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh.

Top engineer Dilip Kumar Raut stated that water flow at Mundli is expected to rise slightly from 6.5 lakh to 6.7 lakh cusecs. This increased flow is anticipated to subside within 8 to 10 hours.

Meanwhile, the situation across other major river systems—including the Baitarani, Salandi, Subarnarekha, and Brahmani—remains completely under control. Water levels in the Vansadhara River have also receded following an earlier flash flood.

With no rainfall predicted for the next three days, officials expect conditions to normalize further. However, authorities are maintaining strict vigilance on barrages, and residents in low-lying areas have been advised to stay alert.
