Striving for a corruption-free administration, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced stringent actions against graft during the 'State-Level Anti-Corruption Awareness Week-2026' in Bhubaneswar. Under a strict zero-tolerance policy, 41 convicted government employees have been dismissed and the pensions of 91 retirees discontinued.

Highlighting a surge in accountability, the Chief Minister noted that the Odisha Vigilance department's conviction rate climbed from 50% in 2025 to 65% by September 2026. Action over the past two and a half years has targeted numerous senior officials, including an IAS officer, eight Chief Engineers, and multiple mining, forest, and revenue officers.

Majhi credited public grievance redressal initiatives like 'Janasunani' and the Prime Minister’s JAM framework for curbing leakages and streamlining direct benefit transfers. Furthermore, a new 'Preventive Vigilance Research Wing' is being established to identify corruption-prone areas using modern technology.

Emphasizing this year's theme, 'Prosperity through Integrity,' Majhi urged officials to embrace transparency. During the event, the Koraput division and Angul unit were honored as the best division and unit of 2025 alongside top-performing investigating officers and public prosecutors.
