Odisha is expected to experience increased rainfall starting today due to the convergence of two low-pressure areas. One low-pressure area is likely to form over northwest Madhya Pradesh and its adjoining areas within the next 24 hours, while another is expected to develop over the northwest Bay of Bengal and Odisha coast over the next two days.


Districts Under Yellow Warning:


- July 14: Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are predicted in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts, with a yellow warning issued.

- July 14-15: Widespread rainfall with thunderstorms expected in Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, and Jharsuguda districts.

- July 15-16: Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms likely in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts.

- July 16: Light rain and thunderstorms predicted in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh districts.

- Residents are advised to stay updated with official weather bulletins and take shelter during thunderstorms.

- Avoid waterlogged areas and follow local administration advisories to ensure safety.

- The state government has instructed district collectors to keep administrative machinery on standby to address potential emergencies.
