Odisha Cabinet Approves Key Proposals, Including Chief Minister's Adibandh Yojana

 The 23rd meeting of the Odisha state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved five proposals from four departments. The decisions were announced by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja during a press conference.


Key Approvals:


- Chief Minister's Adibandh Yojana: The cabinet has approved the Chief Minister's Adibandh Yojana, a project that will provide irrigation facilities to 57,525 hectares of land at a cost of Rs 2,738 crore.

- Food Processing Policy: Amendments have been approved to the food processing policy, aiming to boost the sector's growth and development.

- Taxation: The Odisha Goods and Services Tax Act will be amended, leading to an increase in tax rates.

- Judicial Reforms: The cabinet has approved amendments to the Odisha District and Civil Court Judicial Officers Service Rules, 2008, and the Odisha Law Officers Rules, 1971. These changes aim to reduce the caseload in the state and ensure speedy justice.

- Appointment of Law Officers: The amendments will also facilitate the appointment of law officers in district headquarters courts and their subordinate offices, particularly in districts where no law officers are currently appointed.
