President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Odisha today and is scheduled to address the State Legislative Assembly shortly. She was received at the Biju Patnaik International Airport by Governor Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who welcomed her with flowers.
Prominent officials and leaders present included Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, MP Aparajita Sarangi, and the Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The President's visit holds special significance as she previously served as an MLA in the Odisha Assembly from 2000 to 2009. She was also the Transport Minister in the BJD-BJP coalition government from 2000 to 2004. Following her address, President Murmu is expected to spend time in Room No. 11, reviving old memories of her legislative tenure.
