The Supreme Court has quashed all cases registered across India against student protesters involved in the NEET paper leak demonstrations at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant issued the order following an application by the Delhi Police and governments of Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, and Maharashtra, submitted through Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.

Praising the constructive dialogue between authorities and the students, the court clarified that the relief excludes individuals with serious criminal backgrounds. While no new cases will be registered over the protest, Delhi Police is permitted to pursue specific FIRs against individuals facing grave criminal charges.

Following the ruling, the Kakroch Janata Party withdrew its proposed September 5 march in Delhi. Expressing gratitude to the judiciary and legal teams, stakeholders hope for swift compliance with the directive.
