Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan to accelerate development projects aimed at transforming Puri into a world-class religious and tourist destination. Emphasizing high construction standards and local interests, the government has prioritized infrastructure while preserving the city's rich heritage.
Key initiatives reviewed include expediting the construction of the Sri Jagannath International Airport, the reconstruction of the Raghunandan Library, and setting up the Sri Jagannath Interpretation Centre.
The comprehensive development of the Sri Gundicha Temple and a new kitchen facility for preparing Mahaprasad were also highlighted.
To improve urban management and convenience, street vendors along Grand Road (Bada Danda) will be rehabilitated near Sri Setu. The administration stressed safeguarding the needs of local servitors and citizens throughout the execution phase.
These sweeping upgrades are expected to significantly boost tourism, enhance transportation, and beautify Srikhetra.
