The Odisha Vigilance department has launched massive raids on Rabindra Kumar Barik, a Junior Accountant at the Sundargarh Civil Supplies office, over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. Acting on search warrants from the Special Vigilance Judge, Balasore, teams targeted five locations across Balasore and Sundargarh.
The operation revealed significant holdings, including a three-story residential building in Gopalgaon, a three-story market complex, and a private gym. Searches were also conducted at his office and rented accommodation in Sundargarh.
The crackdown, led by 3 DSPs and 6 Inspectors, is part of a coordinated effort to expose wealth accumulated beyond known income sources. While the total valuation of the seized assets is currently being calculated, the scale of the infrastructure discovered has sent shockwaves through the department. Investigations are ongoing to trace further financial links and hidden investments.
