Shame returns to the capital as a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in the Saheed Nagar police station area. The victim was lured by a fraudulent social media advertisement for a "Data Entry Operator" job offering a monthly salary of ₹12,000.
Upon reaching the specified location on December 18, the minor was trapped in a room and assaulted by accused Akshay Das and Sahil Khan. The culprits also filmed the heinous act. The victim was later found unconscious and dropped off at Acharya Vihar late at night.
Following a complaint by the victim’s family on December 19, Saheed Nagar Police acted swiftly, conducting a medical examination and recording her statement. Both Akshay and Sahil have been arrested and produced in court. This incident follows a similar recent horror in the Dhauli area, raising serious concerns over the safety of women and the dangers of predatory social media job scams.
