The annual Bali Yatra, a historic festival in Cuttack, begins today on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate the festivities this afternoon.
The event features 1600 stalls, showcasing local handicrafts and cuisine, and promises an exciting experience for visitors. Renowned singers Shreya Ghoshal and Harshdeep Kaur will perform to add to the festive atmosphere.
The administration has made elaborate arrangements for crowd control, deploying 50 platoon forces and over 300 officers. This year's Bali Yatra will have a unique theme and decorations, and the administration has introduced new initiatives, including the distribution of 1 lakh books and the collection of opinions from visitors.
The event aims to promote Odia language and literature, and efforts are being made to get Bali Yatra recognized as a UNESCO Heritage Fair.
