The Ratnabhandar Monitoring Committee, led by Justice Biswanath Rath, has finalized a comprehensive 11-page guideline for the historic census of Lord Jagannath’s treasures. While a definitive January start date is pending government approval, Chairman Rath aims to complete the audit before the Rath Yatra.
According to Chief Administrator Dr. Arvind Padhi, the inventory will occur in three distinct phases: movable jewelry, the outer chamber, and finally, the inner sanctum. To ensure the sanctity of rituals, public darshan will be restricted to the temple exterior during counting. Only authorized personnel, including RBI representatives and expert goldsmiths, will gain access using special ID cards.
The process will be meticulously recorded via videography and matched against the 1978 inventory list. With keys secured daily in the district treasury, the administration promises a transparent and secure audit of the divine assets.
