Bear terror has gripped Korabandi village near Jajpur Road after a resident was critically injured in a sudden attack this morning, adding to the growing concerns over human-animal conflict in the area.
The victim, identified as Laxman Parida, was attacked by a bear that reportedly emerged from a nearby forest in the pre-dawn hours while he was outdoors. Parida sustained serious injuries in the mauling.
He was immediately rescued and initially taken to Jajpur Road Medical College before being transferred to Jajpur Main Hospital due to his critical condition. Doctors have stated that his health remains precarious.
The increasing frequency of bear attacks has instilled a deep sense of fear and anxiety among the residents of Korabandi village and the surrounding localities.
