With campaigning drawing to a close, the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), R.S. Gopalan, has issued strict directives to ensure a fair election in Nuapada, ordering all "outsiders" to leave the constituency by 4 pm on November 9th.
The measures are part of intensified monitoring 48 hours before voting begins. The CEO's office reported significant seizures so far, including ₹1.22 crore in cash and ₹1.32 crore worth of liquor and other items.
As part of the crackdown, all vehicles will be checked, and social media will be closely monitored for election-related content. Furthermore, the CEO ordered an inquiry by a medical board for anyone using indecent language. All public meetings, processions, and media coverage that could influence voters are strictly prohibited in the final 48 hours. Polling officers are scheduled to reach booths on the morning of the 10th.
