Summer has arrived with a vengeance in Odisha. Western districts have already breached the 43°C mark, with temperatures across the state expected to climb another 2°C starting tomorrow.
In Bhubaneswar, the mercury has soared past 38°C, placing the capital officially on the heat list.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) warns that these above-normal temperatures will persist for the next few days. In response, the state government has activated a comprehensive Heatwave Action Plan covering all 30 districts and major urban hubs.
To provide immediate relief for commuters and pedestrians, authorities have installed water fountains at key intersections.
Citizens are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor exposure during peak hours as the scorching heat now begins as early as 8 am.
