The Odisha government, led by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, has announced that the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar (treasury) of the Puri Jagannath Temple will be conducted in August. The treasury contains precious ornaments and gems.

The government has requested the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to provide two experts to assist in the inventory process, and the RBI has nominated the experts.

A temple management committee will be formed soon to oversee the inventory process.

The gems will be transferred to the inner Ratna Bhandar, and the inventory will be conducted in the presence of RBI representatives.

A new list of all the ornaments will be prepared, and the count will be matched with the previous list.

The inner and outer treasury has been locked and sealed with three locks, ensuring the safety of the ornaments for at least 200 years.

A new "Ihnta" (ark) has been prepared to store the ornaments, and it will be opened in the presence of everyone during the inventory process.
